What Space Pixl collects, and why. Your photos never leave your computer.

This policy covers Space Pixl, published by [Company legal name] (“PIXL Foundation”, “we”, “us”). Our other apps and our websites under pixlfoundation.com have their own policy at pixlfoundation.com/legal/privacy.
The short version
- Your photos stay on your computer. Analysis, previews and conversions all run locally, in the PIXL engine on your own machine. We never see your photos, your file names or your folders.
- No account, no analytics, no crash uploads, no ads.
- The only thing the app sends is an update check.
Update checks
Space Pixl checks for updates when it starts and every few hours by downloading a small file from GitHub, where our releases are published. As with any web request, GitHub sees your IP address and the app version asking. When an update is available, the app downloads it from GitHub too. See GitHub’s privacy statement.
What stays on your computer
To show your Stats, the app keeps a small database in its own data folder: for each file you analyse or convert, its name, path, size, format, the target you chose and the result. A log file in the same folder helps with troubleshooting. Neither is ever sent anywhere. You can clear your stats in the app, and uninstalling the app and deleting its data folder removes both.
What the app doesn’t do
No analytics or tracking, no crash reporting, and nothing about the photos you open or the files you convert leaves your computer. If you email us, we use your message only to reply.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to how we use it. Space Pixl gives us none, but if you’ve emailed us, write again and we’ll help. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above, and for significant changes we’ll say so in the app’s release notes.
